Two years of global demonstrations in support of Palestine

Global demonstrations surge in response to the Middle East crisis amid Gaza conflicts and protests.

Authors

Since October 2023, demonstrators around the globe have taken to public spaces to protest Israel’s military operations in Palestine and across the Middle East. As the Israel Defense Forces pursued further operations in Gaza, the documented killing, displacement, and starvation of Palestinian civilians led to heightened public sentiments and citizen-coordinated pressure campaigns, particularly in recent months. Between May and September 2025, pro-Palestine protests increased 43% compared to the five months prior. As the Gaza war reaches the end of its second year and historical shifts in the global political climate see Israel increasingly isolated, ACLED examines the global pro-Palestine demonstration movement and its growing momentum.
